This online novella has been revised as of November 2023, to bring some plot points and timelines in line with the published novel. If you’ve previously read An Unauthorised Fan Treatise, here is the list of changes:
- NBC was changed to the fictional TV network ‘RBC’
- The timeline has shifted from 2018 to 2014 for Gottie’s blog posts, and from 2014 to 2010 for the silentwakes LiveJournal saga.
- The readers of Gottie’s blog no longer track down her real name, Margot Garcia. Her name remains a mystery, and she does not speak at Rob Hennings’ trial.
- Bradley Saffitz is not just Anya’s boyfriend – they are a married couple with children.
- There are no visa issues for Nathan O’Donnell.
- Gottie does not track down Rob’s activities on the dark web. The origins of his activities remains a mystery to her.
- Gottie no longer discovers Nathan’s body, or steals his phone.
- Rob Hennings studied Graphic Design at university, not Law.
